An Alloa man has been jailed for a string of offences, including breaking into a home and being caught with a stash of cannabis when a shoplifting attempt went wrong.

Jordan Green, 30, of Pine Grove, was also caught ignoring a driving ban.

He appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court, by video-link from prison, having previously admitted a spate of offences.

On June 25, at Churchill Street, Alloa, he forced open a locked vehicle and stole a purse. The same day, also in Churchill Street, he forced open another car and stole £100.

On July 2, at Lornhill Cottages, Tullibody Road, Alloa, he broke into a home and stole a games consul.

On June 13, at Asda, Alloa, he was in possession of cannabis. The court was told that this incident involved Green being stopped by security staff at the store,. He panicked and left behind a carrier bag which was found to contain cannabis valued at £1600.

On June 10, at Ash Grove, Alloa, and elsewhere he drove a car when disqualified and without insurance. The car belonged to his mum, the court was told.

On April 4 at Aldi, Alloa, he stole food items.

Sheriff Neil Bowie jailed Green for 23 months. He deferred sentencing on the shoplifting case until October 26 with the intention of imposing supervision to provide support when he leaves prison.

Green was given another driving ban, this time for five years.
