TRAIN enthusiasts had the chance to catch a glimpse of the LMS Jubilee Class 45690 Leander as it steamed into the Wee County at the weekend.

The locomotive passed through Alloa Train Station around lunchtime on Saturday, April 21, a sight caught on camera by Robert Thomson.

The steam train left from Linlithgow in the morning and Inverkeithing in the afternoon, taking in a tour around the Forth Circle.

It went over the Forth Bridge, along the Fife Coast, around the Fife Circle and along the railway through Culross, Kincardine, Alloa and Stirling.

The outing was from SRPS Railtours, operator of scenic railway excursions, as part of its 2018 programme.

Several celebrated engines have been spotted at the Clacks station over the past few years.

In 2017, the famous Flying Scotsman took a trip through the Wee County on an evening jaunt around Fife and Central Scotland.

And, the year before, the Royal Scot, which was built in 1927, came through the areas during a tour.
