AN EXHIBITION of artwork exploring the topic travelling was officially launched at Resonate Arts House.

On Friday, May 11, Travel the Line was unveiled at the Alloa venue by special guest Blair Elliot, who is no stranger to trotting around the globe.

One half of Team Noble, he recently returned from Antigua after rowing the Atlantic Ocean with his brother Kris in aid of The Firefighters Charity.

He said: “It was a great night giving a talk on Team Noble’s adventure at the opening of the arts exhibition at Resonate Arts House.

“It’s an amazing not for profit organisation, run by amazing people, providing support to the local community in and around Alloa.”

Resonate is a profit-for-good venture and has been helping the local community since it was established eight years ago.

It provides arts and crafts for all ages and holds an annual Happiness Festival which offers a range of activities.

By holding regular art showcases, Resonate aims to enable local and amateur artists to display their work, some who otherwise wouldn’t have access to a gallery exhibition.

Angela Watt, Resonate’s founder and chief executive, said: “It was a wonderful evening with a great atmosphere created by Blair’s personal story of rowing the Atlantic, he was very inspirational.”

In addition to the exhibition, which will run until Friday, June 22, the Resonate team are proud to launch their YouTube channel, Resonate Together Scotland, with two films.

Now available to view is the Place of Kindness with Carnegie UK, along with The Alloa 500 which describes the approaching crowdfunding bike ride in June covering 500 miles of beautiful Scottish scenery in five days.

The intention is to make this an annual event attracting cyclists who are looking for an original challenge.

The hope is this will bring tourism and a welcome boost to the county’s economy, as well as providing an excellent fundraising opportunity for local charities and community groups.
