ALVA’S weekly salsacise class had an unexpected guest dropping in for a workout on Thursday.

American TV star Phil Keoghan and his film crew surprised everyone in the salsa exercise class by stopping off for a quick lesson.

Phil came to Scotland to realise one of his dreams of putting a golf ball from one side of Scotland to the other.

And, after pitching in for Wednesday night at Menstrie’s Broomhall Castle, the putter nutter got back on course with a bit of exercise before heading for St Andrews.

Phil told the Advertiser, “The idea for putting across Scotland came after I had a few whiskies with a Scottish friend and decided it was something I’d really like to do.

“So far we’ve had an amazing time and we’ve met so many people on the way that have been great fun to hang out with.”

The Emmy Award winning host of ‘The Amazing Race’ and ‘No Opportunity Wasted’ is working his way through his ‘list for life’ – all the things he would like to do before he dies.

Putting from Greenock to St Andrews sits on the list alongside travelling into outer space and taking chat show host Oprah Winfrey sky-diving.
