MENSTRIE Primary pupil Erin Rae has been dancing her way to success this year.
The eight-year-old recently took the top spot in the Scottish National Championships for her age at the Cowal Highland Gathering in Dunoon.
And in the Official Scottish Highland Dance Championship, the youngster finished in tied first place, competing against youngsters from as far afield as Canada and the USA.
The results were the culmination of a very successful year.
Erin has danced since she was three years old and attends the McKechine School of Dance in Grangemouth.
Earlier this year she won the ballet championship at the Doncaster Stage Festival and the Tap Championship at the Zetland Stage Festival in July.
Then during the summer she took the top spot in the British Open Highland Championship held at the Edinburgh International Arts Festival.
There she also won the category A prize for her tap, ballet and modern dance and the combination of those results led to her picking up the JG Thomson Trophy, given to the dancer with the most overall points scored at the festival.
Erin’s younger sister Iona also dances and shows signs of being as successful as well.
