Flavour of Scotland on offer in Alva
By Nicola Findlay
Sheriffmuir Inn head chef Geoff Cook is participating in the festival.
A FEAST of flavoursome food and drink will be on offer on Sunday when Alva’s Cochrane Park hosts the first Scottish International Food Festival.
Organised by The Wee County Development Trust, the festival will showcase the fabulous range of local produce available, and bring taste sensations from Clackmannanshire itself and much further afield.
The Alva event, which marks the end of Scottish Food Fortnight, will feature top chefs from premier Scottish restaurants and abroad, demonstrating how our fish, meat and vegetables can be turned into quite sensational dishes.
Fine dining from Gleneagles, fresh seafood from the East Neuk of Fife, sushi from the Orient and Chinese cookery will all be presented in the Demonstration Marquee.
Chefs showing visitors secrets of some of their signature dishes using fresh Scottish produce will include Alan Gibb, from the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel; Edith Tao, who will demonstrate the delights of Japanese cooking; Yohann Roy, chef to the Consul General of France; and Domenico Crolla, who will make pizzas from the finest Scottish ingredients.
