PUPILS at Deerpark Primary in Sauchie used their artistic talents last week to get across the anti-drug message.
The P7 class designed posters for Locals Against Drug Abuse (LADA) Link – the Clackmannanshire-based drug abuse support group – showing their perceptions of the dangers of taking drugs.
Agnes Douglas, project manager for LADA, said, “We have recently been into Deerpark to teach the pupils about drug awareness.
“It is important they know at an early age about the dangers and the pitfalls.
“We have been educating them on all drugs including alcohol.”
Agnes added, “What amazed us is that the kids are quite aware of what’s happening and it is parents and teachers who need to be more aware and equipped.
“People shouldn’t wait until it’s a crisis to talk to children about drugs.”
A voucher was presented to Danielle McKinsley, whose poster the judges picked as the overall winner.
LADA Link offers advice and help to families affected by the issues surrounding drug addiction. The group can be contacted on 0797 0712692.
