Sick attack on girl after epileptic fit

A TULLIBODY teenager who “felt up” a girl whilst she lay unconscious after suffering an epileptic fit has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

Kyle Watt (18) placed his hands underneath her clothing and touched her private parts, as her friends called for an ambulance after she collapsed at a house party.

Watt, of Newmills, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday where he pled guilty to carrying out the indecent assault on the girl at Carseview, Tullibody on 2 or 3 February.

He also admitted carrying two knives on the same date.

Both offences took place whilst Watt was on bail.

Fiscal depute Jim Graham explained that the complainer was at a house party drinking alcohol when she was assaulted by another girl around midnight.

She and her friend went into the back garden for the incident to calm down and that was where she had an epileptic fit.

“Her female friend phoned an ambulance,” Mr Graham said. “Whilst the complainer was lying helpless and unconscious on the ground the accused approached her and placed his hands under her clothing and touched her private parts.”

“One of the males at the party saw what happened and stopped the accused. At that the accused became angry and aggressive with the male who walked away.”

Later, when the police arrived and the girl was put in the ambulance, Watt was seen standing with “knives in each hand”.

When questioned by police about the knives, the teenager told them, “It’s for my protection.”

Defence agent Grant Markie withheld his mitigation until sentence.

Remanding Watt in custody, Sheriff David Mackie told him, “You now have pled guilty to two serious charges. You have been allowed bail before with stringent conditions and you were able to comply with them. However, I note from your record you have previously offended whilst on bail.”

Sentence on Watt was deferred until 7 January next year and reports were called for.
