Jobs boost in store for Asda

AN ALLOA supermarket giant’s expansion plans could bring 25 new jobs to the Wee County.
Asda on Whins Road has applied to Clackmannanshire Council to construct a mezzanine floor which would bring with it around 25 new full and part time jobs. The store has applied for a certificate of lawful use with Clackmannanshire Council to construct the new floor. Planning permission is currently not required for the addition of mezzanine floors in Scotland and Asda just needs to notify the council of their plans.
The new floor will sell a range of George clothing, music and video along with a white goods including DVD players and televisions.
A spokesperson from Asda told the Advertiser, “We are looking forward to building a mezzanine floor at our store on the Whins Road in Alloa. We hope to offer our customers a better range of products as soon as possible. Our plans will also generate approximately 25 new full and part time jobs for local people.”
