Oran's restructuring could lead to job cuts
By Jamie MacDonald
A RESTRUCTURING of business by Oran could lead to redundancies at the Cambus-based waste management company.
In addition to possible job cuts, a spokesperson for the company confirmed it is looking to sell off parts of its base at Midtown Business Park, although she denied that Oran was itself facing financial difficulties.
The company refused to be drawn on the number of workers who could lose their jobs.
The spokesperson said, “At this stage it would be unfair to discuss potential redundancy figures, however, any redundancies which may occur will be kept to a minimum.”
She added, “The purpose of our restructuring is to ensure that we remain focused on our core activities and continue to deliver high quality environmental solutions.
“Elements of Midtown Business Park are currently for sale.
“Oran will be retaining certain parts of this site, as required to continue servicing our core business.”
The spokesperson for Oran said that a full restructuring announcement would soon be issued by the company outlining a very positive future for Oran.
She went on, “I can confirm that Oran is not facing financial difficulties and continues to operate as a key player within the waste management industry.”
