Rockfest is rousing success

Oakwood co-owner Craig Stewart welcomes Alloa band The Escapades to the 'May the 4th be with you' rockfest.
A SAUCHIE pub staged its very own rockfest on Sunday.
The Oakwood Lounge was the venue for ‘May the 4th be with you’ and packed in the crowds to see seven bands from across Forth Valley perform at the all-day event.
The bands that entertained the punters were The Encierro, Kev Harper, Lamens Terms, The Capuletts, The Escapades, Tegan and State of Mind.
Oakwood co-owner Craig Stewart told the Advertiser, “It was a brilliant day and all the bands were excellent. As long as the bands are there I hope to put on another music day on July 4th.”
The event ran from 4pm until midnight and raised £330 in aid of The Landirani Trust, a charity that supports around 3000 orphans in the African country of Malawi.
The Oakwood has been developed into a live music venue by Craig for up and coming bands in the area.
Anyone interested in performing there should contact the pub on 01259 725552.
