SIX adults and one teenager were reported for various offences as a result of the day-long drugs operation in Clackmannanshire on Thursday.
Two men, aged 20 and 36, and a 36-year-old woman, appeared in court on Friday charged with being concerned in the supply of drugs.
A 15-year-old girl will also be the subject of a report to the Children’s Reporter for possessing drugs.
A 29-year-old man was arrested for unpaid fines and two other men, aged 24 and 42, were reported for possession offences.
Drugs with a street value of around £1000 were recovered during the day’s activity along with a three figure sum of money.
A 49-year-old man, who was detected the previous day and was also reported for being concerned in the supply of drugs, appeared in court on Thursday.
Clackmannanshire Area Commander Superintendent Andrew Price: “The police conduct drugs operations every day of the week but the majority are, by their very nature, covert and in most instances the public are not aware of them.
“Operation Rose presented us with an opportunity to carry out drugs investigations in a much more overt fashion.
“It allowed us to take along community representatives to witness this work first hand. The high visibility nature of the operation meant that members of the community who live near to the targets of the operation saw that we were taking action.
“The observers who went on some of the raids have all said they have a new appreciation of the difficulties faced by the police and the issues affecting the communities.
“Operations such as this are not possible without the support and information from the communities in which these drug dealers operate and cause difficulty.”
Detective Inspector Ian Motion, head of the force’s drugs unit, said, “This was a successful operation as it sends out a strong message that we will not tolerate drugs in our communities.
“This operation could not have been implemented without the help and support of the public. We rely on information being passed to us and this demonstrates that we do act on what we are told.”
