CHILDREN and adults were bowled over by an armoured personnel carrier on Sunday – the star attraction of the Cambus Bowlers’ Fun Day.
The Alvis Saracen vehicle, normally used by the British Army, was donated by Tullibody plumber Robert Sheppard for the family fun day.
It proved a talking point amid the face painting, football games, target bowls, treasure hunt and stalls at the event held at the Cambus and District Bowling Club.
Chairman, George Sherry said, “It was an excellent day despite the concerns about the weather. The Saracen tank was kindly donated by Robert Sheppard and proved a great attraction for the children and for one or two of the adults too.
“We made over £600 and I’d like to thank everyone who helped in every way to make the fun day a success.”
A barbecue kept visitors fed while the Tullibody Healthy Living Initiative fruit barra promoted healthy eating.
