SANDRA McCLUMPHA was revealed as the entrepreneur who will front ‘The Hirer’ reality Internet TV show.

The winner of the show will become an executive for Sandra’s tanning phenomenon Fake Bake.

As revealed in the Advertiser last week, one of Scotland’s top recruitment bosses, Greta-Hill Lyons – founder of forthvalleyjobs.com and based in Alloa – came up with the concept about six months ago.

She said, “I’ve known Sandra for years. She built Fake Bake from nothing and took the turnover from zero to £15 million.

“I see so much raw talent in Scotland and I want to give everyone the opportunity to prove themselves and go on to work alongside one of Scotland’s most successful entrepreneurs.

“This really will be a life changing experience for someone who has the determination, drive and ambition to be the best.

“I’m thrilled at the enormous interest ‘The Hirer’ has generated and I’m proud to be airing the show through a new innovative online format.”

More than 10,000 people have applied online at www.thehirer.tv – and the show is still open for people to apply.

Eight candidates will be selected as finalists to appear on the web-based show, and they’ll be working hard to impress Sandra McClumpha.

Sandra said, “For quite some time I’ve had difficulty getting the right person for a high powered position within my business.

“You really don’t get a chance to see what people are like until you hire them. This way I’ll know exactly what I’m getting.”

After the hopefuls have submitted their video entries viewers will be able to watch the lucky eight throughout September.

Unlike the contestants on the BBC TV series The Apprentice, the final eight won’t be fired periodically – they will be coached throughout the process, enabling them to develop their skills.

Two clear front runners will be identified at the penultimate stage to go head-to-head for the final.

Lanarkshire-based media technology company Moviecom TV will deliver the broadcast of the show and produce the movie content for the series throughout the various candidate tasks.

Greta said she is passionate about Scotland, and the whole process would be a great boost for ‘Scotland plc’.

The buzz created so far has attracted interest from major broadcasters, but she insisted this was certainly not a fame driven concept.

Sandra added, “In Fake Bake it’s all about the brand – not the personality.”
