Four-figure sum stolen from Clackmannan pub
By Nicola Findlay
A FOUR-FIGURE sum of money has been stolen from a Clackmannan pub only a few months after it reopened.
The money was taken from the County Bar in Clackmannan’s Main Street between 12.10am and 10.30am on Thursday.
Licensee Callum Page has spent the last six months building the business back up after the pub was closed for a year and told the Advertiser that the loss of the four-figure-sum is a major set back.
“When I shut the pub there was no money missing and I only realised the money was gone when I came back in the morning for the deliveries,” said Callum. “I am absolutely gutted that the money has been stolen as it has been hard work trying to build the pub back up and now I will have to start from the beginning again.”
Callum went on, “I have been trying to get the community involved through pool and darts teams, so I am so angry that this has happened.”
Police are keen to speak to anybody who has information or who may have noticed a surge in £50 notes being used in the area. Anyone with information can contact Central Scotland Police on 01786 456000 or information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
