A POLICE investigation has been launched after a man’s body was discovered in a house in Tillicoultry.
Residents of Dorothy Terrace were shocked at the sudden death of Donald McKay last Tuesday.
An ambulance was called to Mr McKay’s home, with paramedics alerting the police.
Mr McKay’s home was then cordoned off and forensic officers were called to the scene, and a mobile crime investigation unit was placed in Dorothy Terrace for several days.
The house is still cordoned off with police tape, and the front door has also been shut off with a metal grill.
One stunned Dorothy Terrace resident told the Advertiser, “It was a big shock when I saw the police and the forensic officers and then the mobile crime unit appeared. I knew something was wrong when I saw an ambulance outside.”
Another resident said, “I used to see him out with his wee dog sometimes but he didn’t seem to keep very well and wore a neck brace and callipers. He was a very pleasant man and it is a real shame.
“I think everyone has been extremely shocked by his death.”
A spokesperson for Central Scotland Police said, “Following the discovery of a man’s body in Dorothy Terrace in Tillicoultry on Tuesday 4 November a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
“The circumstances surrounding the man’s death are subject to an ongoing investigation.”
