Bowlers pay tribute to big George

THE popularity of big George Sneddon who passed away last year, was evident by the turnout at his Memorial Bowling Competition, held at Tillicoultry Green on Sunday.
Every club in the county was represented and teams from West Fife, Ayrshire, Dunbartonshire, Stirlingshire, Argyle and Bute and the Scottish Bowling Association, all contributing to the memory of George Sneddon with £500 raised for Cancer Research.
The prizes were donated by Diageo and presented by Mrs Kathryn Clark with every team receiving miniatures.
The three highest up teams collected bottles of whisky plus engraved glasses.
Winners were: 1 Alloa BC; 2 Alva South BC; 3 Tillicoultry BC.
