On-form Wasps are wary of Brechin
By John Simpson
Allan Maitland has warned the trip to Glebe Park won't be easy.
SIX games without defeat and showing great form, but Alloa Athlketic manager Allan Maitland is taking nothing for granted ahead of Saturday’s trip to Glebe Park.
The Wasps boss is very pleased with the way his side is playing but will be telling his players to expect a tough challenge from the City team.
He said this week, “I am looking forward to the match but I expect a difficult time up there because they are fighting near the bottom of the table.
“I feel Brechin are in a false position so things could be hard for us. But we have been showing great form and must continue to play like that if we are to manage a victory.”
After a midweek friendly game away from home, the manager will assess the squad with some of the injured players slowly coming back to full fitness.
John Grant, who missed the Raith Rovers match due to flu, is expected to return at Glebe Park. Graeme Brown came off the bench at the weekend to play so it looks like he will be making his first start for a while.
Ross Clark is also progressing well following his ankle injury sustained against Ross County, so there is a good chance the former Queen’s Park defender could also be included.
There is less chance of striker Andy Ferguson making his return following problems with his knee which began against Queen’s Park in August.
