Sophie's trophy joy at awards night

Sophie Brown shows off some of the trophies she received at the Central Athletics Club awards evening.
SOPHIE Brown – aged 12 in second year at Alva Academy – has just been awarded an unprecedented four trophies at the recent Central Athtletic Awards evening in Dunblane.
After a successful first year in athletics, Sophie – who is atttached to Central Athletics Club – ended her season as Scottish High Jump champion, and was placed fourth in the United Kingdom for the same event.
She also excelled in several other track and field events, gaining Scottish top 15 places for the 100m and 200m sprints.
During the well attended awards night, she received the following Cups – Under 13 Girls Track and Field champion, Best contribution to the club by a female athlete, Joe Allan Trophy for best performance in the JSB Plumbing League, and the ISR Trophy for the most outstanding club performance over the year.
Sophie said she was thrilled to win so many trophies and thoroughly enjoyed her evening.
She expresses thanks to the club for their support and guidance, and hopes to win many more trophies for club and country.
She was also excited by Glasgow winning the race for the Commomwealth Games and would love to compete in front of a home crowd in 2014.
