THE CIS Insurance Cup was paraded at Banchory Primary on Friday after one of the pupils had a great result in a competition run by the sponsors.
Tamarra Jane Ross, a P5 pupil at the Tullibody school, followed in the footsteps of some of the greatest players to have graced Scottish football when she lifted the trophy.
The trophy - also known as the league cup - was brought to the school after Tamarra’s mum entered a competition on the internet. She also won tickets to the recent Hearts versus Rangers semi-final.
John Harley, head-teacher at Banchory, said, “The pupils were delighted to have the trophy coming to the school and in years to come they’ll be able to tell their children they lifted the cup - its probably something a few of their dads would like to do too.”
Tamarra was delighted that Rangers won through to March’s final where they will battle it out with Dundee United for the right to follow in Tamarra’s footsteps and lift the cup.
In addition to the cup, everyone at the school took part in a beat the goalie competition with Lornshill Academy’s head-boy, Brian Flannigan, in goal.
