Alloa Athletic's Mike Mulraney presents the SFA award to members of the Hillfoots club.

Hillfoots Community Club is now among an elite group who have achieved the development level of the SFA quality mark. They are the only club in the Forth Valley Development League to have achieved the award.

Hillfoots now have eight teams playing the Forth Valley Development League, with age groups 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15 years old.

We also have younger kids who train but will not join a team until they are 8 years old.

Our club philosophy is to provide quality football training in a fair and friendly way and give the kids a full understanding of all aspects of the game. Above all, we want them to enjoy the game.

We hope that every under 12 team, before moving on to 11 a side football will get a trip abroad with the club to visit teams such as Ajax and Barcelona.

Our younger teams also take part in various football festivals and other activities outside of the game.

We now have 22 coaches with SFA coaching certificates. They also have disclosure checks and first aid training.

The club has an annual ceilidh, which have proved to be a great success with coaches, parents and friends of the club. We also have a Christmas night out for coaches and their wives.

Build on success

We now hope to continue to build on our success and move towards the next level of the quality mark providing a pathway to amateur level and girls/women football.

We are always looking for new members to play in our teams and new coaching staff. Full training will be given to new coaches. We are particularly looking for players born in 1999, 1998 and 1995.
