FORMER Celtic youth player Pat Scullion is all set to take up the challenge for his new club, Alloa Athletic after joining up from Cowdenbeath.

The 22 year old from Dunfermline, who cut his teeth under Martin O’Neill at Parkhead told us; “I am delighted Allan Maitland came in to sign me last week. The manager told me he wants to build on last season’s run which took Alloa to a play-off position.

“He sees me as part of the squad which will take Alloa to the next level and after he spoke to me a couple of times, I was happy to sign on.

Pat, a student at Telfer College in Edinburgh, studying sports development added, “I want to help Alloa build on their achievements for a possible promotion place.

After his stint with Celtic, Pat had a spell with Dunfermline under David Hay, then David Robertson signed him for Elgin City before he joined Cowdenbeath.

Also joining the Wasps from Cowdenbeath is former Alloa youngster Dougie Hill. Dougie, who was signed by Tom Hendrie in his first spell is looking forward to rejoining his old club.
