Whole new challenge for Kenny

STAR footballer Kenny Milne is excited by his move to play in England next season.
The 28 year old from Tullibody who has just completed a three year spell with Falkirk, will be heading for Humberside to join Scunthorpe United, where he will be trying to help them win promotion.
Kenny, who already has an impressive record, not only with the Bairns but with Hearts and Partick Thistle, is looking forward to his new challenge.
He told the Advertiser this week, “I have signed a three year deal at Scunthorpe with a one year option.
“Falkirk wanted me to stay when my contract was up, offering me a new deal. There were other Scottish Premier League clubs showing an interest in me but I felt Scunthorpe was the club for me after I had met and talked to their manager Nigel Atkins.”
It will be Kenny’s first move south after spending all his footballing years in Scotland. He has lived in Sauchie, Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton then Tullibody.
Like many promising youngsters Kenny played his youth football with Carronshore cracks Gairdoch, had a youth spell with Rangers then Hutchison Vale in Edinburgh where he was spotted by Hearts.
This brought signing offers and he spent seven years at Tynecastle but there were worries on his future at that time when he sustained a bad ankle gash which kept him out of action for a long time.
He was able to recuperate with the help of a loan spell at Cowdenbeath, playing against Alloa Athletic in a couple of matches.
After seven years with Hearts he joined P artick Thistle, staying at Firhill for three years where he was one of their best performers.
But Kenny was soon moving again in the shortest travelling distance of his career – over the Forth to join Falkirk.
Now he is relishing the move to England with his usual enthusiasm and looking in particularly good shape.
He said, “When Scunthorpe approached me I felt it was the right time to move because I wanted a new challenge. Financially the money in England is far superior to Scotland.
“Scunthorpe were relegated from the Championship so they aim to go right back up again. I want to be part of the push to help them get there.”
Falkirk boss John Hughes, while sorry to lose one of his best players, commented this week, “I wish him the best of luck for the future. He was a good servant here and we all wish him well down south.”
