Iain Campbell is looking forward to returning to East End Park and believes Alloa can pull off a surprise result against the Pars.

AS he prepares to make his return to East End Park on Tuesday evening, Alloa defender Iain Campbell believes the Wasps can carve out a result against his old dlub in the Co-operative Cup.

Campbell, back in the Alloa side following a knee injury sustained against Dundee in the same competition, has high hopes that Alloa will hit better form to pull off a victory.

He said, “I am really looking forward to my first return to East End Park because all the pressure will be on Dunfermline. It is a great tie for us and considering we played well against Dundee I don’t see why we cannot do the same again on Tuesday at East End Park.”

Iain still keeps in touch with his former mates at the Pars but that will be forgotten at kick-off on Tuesday.

He said, “I am still good friends with several players but I hope to be able to help Alloa to a victory.”

After a spell playing under-10 football in Fife, Iain joined Dunfermline's youth set-up at 14, before eventually signing professional forms.

He played under Jimmy Calderwood, David Hay and Jim Leishman before being transferred to Kilmarnock where he remained for two years.

A loan spell at Ross County, then two months with Clyde, also on loan, gave him further experience which he hopes to use at Recreation Park.

He said, “I am enjoying things at Alloa but it is a change for me to be playing part-time football after being full-time with Dunfermline and Kilmarnock.

“Once we start banging in the goals I think we will all do fine with Alloa. Our manager Allan Maitland is really good which will help us pick up. I have confidence in all our boys to do well this season.”
