WASPS defender David McClune is hoping to return in the next couple of weeks after picking up an injury in the opening league match at Arbroath.
McClune told the Advertiser, “I strained my thigh against Arbroath then played in the Elgin game in the Co-operative Insurance Cup.
“Playing in that game only aggravated the injury and made it worse. That's made my time out much longer than I thought.
“I am hoping to be fit to play against Stranraer on Saturday but, if not, then I would expect to be back against Stirling Albion at Forthbank on 13 September.
Meanwhile, Brown 'Bomber' Ferguson, who has been out with a back injury, made his return to the side at Peterhead on Saturday..
He said, “ I played in a bounce game between the Alloa under-19s and the 17s and got an hour on the field.
“Since this was my first time back I felt this gave me an indication of where my finess level was. Altough I felt a bit tired after the game, that was to be expected, and the next day I was feeling fine.
“I will be training as normal from now on and I was happy to come off the bench at Peterhead at the weekend."
Striker Andy Ferguson, who had recurring problems with his knee, is now just about ready to come back into the side.
He could have been in the team at Peterhead but the manager Allan Maitland decided to give him another week.
