SINCE returning for pre-season training, Fraser Forrest has not enjoyed the best of luck.
The Alloa defender, who joined the club from Sauchie Juniors, is battling a knee injury but is confident of returning soon.
Forrest told the Advertiser, “I had an operation on my knee three and a half years ago for a torn cartilage and everything turned out fine, but the problem re-appeared during the pre-season.
“I was playing in the Oban Tournament against St. Johnstone when I went into a block tackle, straining the inside of my knee.
“I am pleased to say I am now back running but at the moment I am not able to do contact work. I feel fine going in straight lines but twisting or sideways action has been leaving my knee a bit sore.
“The original operation was fine so I think it will take a little time to settle down.
“It is just a question of biding my time, then doing a whole training session. At the moment it is all bits and pieces until the injury is properly healed.”
Fraser, a PE teacher at Jedburgh Grammar School, is missing being in the Alloa team.
He added, “I just need two or three matches kicking a ball to get my fitness up then I should be alright.”
