Join the Organ Donor Register
The Alloa & Hillfoots Advertiser is campaigning to encourage people to sign up to the NHS Organ Donor Register.
More than 8000 people are on the waiting lists for organ transplants. While many of us say we would have no objection to our organs being used after our death to save someone else's life, the majority of us never get round to doing anything about it.
Last year more than 400 people in Britain died while waiting for a transplant. One in 10 people waiting for a heart transplant will die and many others will lose their lives before they even get on the waiting list.
The more people who pledge to donate their organs after their death, the more people stand to benefit by being able to lead full and active lives.
