As I have written before sometimes finding the start of a walk is harder than doing it as I found with this one.

Seven Munroes on the South Shiel Ridge (again!)
As I drove past some of Scotland's giants slumbering in bluish dusky silhouette, Ben Vorlic, Ben More then Ben Dorian felt like old friends.

Some 20 odd years ago we skated on a frozen Loch Muick so I was really looking forward to revisiting this area again.

Schiehallion is probably one of Scotland's most famous mountains - in fact it was used in an experiment in 1774 to measure the mass of the earth.

Beinn Narnain and Beinn Ime by Arrochar
The path you're following has concrete bases every so often left over from a hydro project, it looks like you're about to walk into a large rock but trust me just go straight over and keep going.

This may be one of the smallest Munros but it has a great wee climb with a well defined path up and down from the summit.

This is a mammoth walk and not one for the faint hearted, this walk takes in Carn Bhac, Beinn Iutharn Mhor, Carn an Righ, Glas Tulaichean and An Socach.

According to my Munro book Ben Challum is a dull walk! I disagree - there's a false summit, a lovely ridge walk and fantastic views of the better known hills in the area.

This is a steep and lung busting ascent, bringing you out on the south ridge of Ben Vorlich but with great views across to Loch Long.

The views we got were amazing with Ben Lawers and its three sisters one way and a clear view along the ridge.

This is a hard ridge with peaks and troughs with the last section gaining height in a very short distance and challenging trekking, ice axe and crampons a must.
