Namco Museum DS gives gamers a virtual arcade where they can choose from eight slices of old-school action: Pac-Man, Pac-Man VS., Galaga, Xevious, Dig Dug II, Galaxian, Mappy, and The Tower of Druaga.
The conversions are so faithful you can almost smell the 80s, but also include an option that allows players to choose whether they want to play with a view adapted to the Nintendo DS or in classic arcade style.
The big attraction for many, though, will be the inclusion of Pac-Man VS: an addictive, multiplayer take on Pac-Man available here for the very first time in wireless, standalone form.
With downloadable play that allows multiple players to battle using only one game cartridge Namco Museum DS isn’t just a title for nostalgia fans – it’s a great way to teach others the pleasures of retro-gaming, too.
