CLACKMANNANSHIRE Council is urging people to put forward heroic residents for its prestigious Clackmannanshire Citizen of the Year award by 30 January.

Nominations are being sought for the annual award, which is in its 12th year and is sponsored by the Lord Lieutenant’s Trust. In addition, the council is also looking for a Young Citizen of the Year for the third time this year.

Provost Tina Murphy will host the awards ceremony at the Speirs Centre in March. She said: “During this very busy year for Clackmannanshire, I have been privileged to see just what a valuable contribution our citizens have made to the lives of others through their dedication in volunteering their time, effort and care.

“I also know that many of these admirable people don’t seek the limelight and so I’d urge the people of Clackmannanshire to think about the people who make that vital contribution to all our lives and nominate them. This really is a chance for everyone to say a big thank you to our unsung heroes of everyday life.” Nomination forms are available on ClacksWeb, the council’s website, with the closing date of 30 January.
