A PUBLIC consultation on Clackmannanshire and Stirling Councils’ draft integrated children’s services plan is open until 2 March.

The draft document, which is the first joint plan by the two councils and their partners, is available on the council’s website.

It projects national and local strategic outcomes showing how the partnerships are working across both areas.

Clackmannanshire residents can air their views on the council’s Citizen Space online. Council leader Les Sharp told the Advertiser about the plans.

He said: “The draft plan sets out the vision we have for working with children, families and communities, to nurture, respect and be ambitious for their future.

“There has already been a great deal of work undertaken with partners to develop the draft plan, and there is widespread support for the vision.

“We want to consult with children and young people, families, partners and communities to ensure that the priorities we have set out meet the expectations of our stakeholders.

“While we have consulted informally on the draft plan, we would like communities to be able to contribute and comment on the actions we are taking during the ongoing consultation period.” The focus of the plan is to set out various priorities for the next three years.

These include: early intervention and prevention by working with children and their families to identify and support their needs at an early stage, working more effectively with partners to improve support to children and families, targeting support where it is needed most, and involving and supporting the community and voluntary sector to help with the work.

Cllr Sharp added: “Once the consultation exercise is over, we will provide a summary of the feedback we receive, and make changes accordingly.

“We will also feature contributions from a wide range of stakeholders within the final plan itself.” A PUBLIC consultation on Clackmannanshire and Stirling Councils’ draft integrated children’s services plan is open until 2 March.
