CLACKMANNANSHIRE Council has launched the annual Active Easter programme.

It will offer a range of sport and activities for children, young people and those with additional support needs during the two week break, from Monday 6 to Friday 17 April.

Education, sport and leisure convener, councillor Ellen Forson (pictured), said: “The Active Easter programme has a great range of sports and activities available for young people in Clackmannanshire to try something new or pursue an interest during the holidays.

“Have a look on ClacksWeb to see the full range of fun and challenging sessions that are available.” Activities take place at a number of venues and include a Commonwealth and Olympic Games inspired Flames Festival, where primary aged children can take part in a variety of sports sessions along with baton relay and opening and closing ceremonies.

There are multi-sport activities available for young people and over 18s with additional support needs, and secondary school aged young people can take part in sports or dance leadership courses.

Pre-school gymnastics will also be offered, along with the new cycle balanceability course for 3-6 year olds, and athletics activities will be taking place, as well as the annual Clackmannan Primary School Sport and Art week featuring a range of activities.

An Easter rugby camp will take place at Hillfoots RFC, skiing and badminton sessions will be available and free swimming sessions will take place in the afternoons on Monday to Fridays at Alloa Leisure Bowl.
