A MAN has been given a six-month prison term for a number of offences.
Mark Anderson, 26, appeared in Alloa Sheriff Court on three theft charges, along with an assault and a breach of a Risk of Sexual Harm Order (RSHO).
On March 21 this year, he stole shaving equipment from the Scotmid in Tullibody before breaching the court order a few days later.
The RSHO prohibits Anderson from entering a public place while under the influence of drink or drugs.
However, on March 27, police officers spotted him walking through Alloa Town Centre and stopped him.
They formed the view that he was under the influence of drugs as Anderson was slurring his words and he was subsequently arrested.
On April 6, Anderson stole £6 worth of clothing from the Primark in Stirling before stealing shaving paraphernalia and an ice block from the Tesco in Alloa.
He then attacked two Lidl employees inside the Candleriggs store on August 26 this year.
After punching and kicking the first worker, the store manager then intervened with Anderson responding by punching him on the head.
The 26-year-old is well-known in the community and Alloa Sheriff Court heard how he has been targeted for abuse due to his “notoriety”.
His defence agent said he had been “a marked man” in the community from a young age.
He told the court: “The drug taking which led to the commission of these offences is down to the fact that he has no confidence in his safety when he is outside his home.
“He has reported to me that he has been subject to name-calling, bullying and even some explicit violence when out and about,” he added.
The solicitor said: “Though it is no one’s fault that he has committed these offences, other than himself, he remains a marked man in the community.”
In sentencing, Sheriff David Mackie imposed a total of six months’ imprisonment, but told Anderson, of Tower Place, Clackmannan, this term would run alongside another prison sentence he is currently serving.
