A TILLICOULTRY man appeared in court last week charged with shouting abuse at a sheriff.
Colin Muir lashed out while attending Alloa Sheriff Court in support of a friend on trial on Wednesday, and was subsequently arrested.
The next day he pleaded guilty to a breach of the peace and re-appeared on Thursday for sentencing.
After speaking out repeatedly during his friend’s hearing, the 27-year-old was asked to leave the courtroom by Sheriff Gillian Wade, presiding.
However, Muir reacted to this and said: “For f**k’s sake” and got up from his seat.
Two police officers then approached him, and he turned towards the sheriff and said: “Useless c***.”
He was arrested and when cautioned and charged, Muir replied: “It just came out; I couldn’t control it. It wasn’t directed at the judge.”
When Muir appeared last month, Sheriff Donald Ferguson described Muir’s conduct as “deplorable” and ordered reports be carried out.
Sentencing was further deferred by Sheriff David Mackie on Thursday for Muir’s good behaviour and to monitor the progress of an ongoing community payback order. and the case will re-call on 3 December 2015.
