A GLENOCHIL inmate has appeared in court charged with threatening to rape a female prison officer.
The 29-year-old denied the allegation when he appeared from custody at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday (November 9).
Despite the nature of the charge, the accused is being prosecuted for threatening and abusive behaviour likely to cause "fear and alarm".
The incident is alleged to have taken place at the Clacks jail on March 21 this year.
A trial date has been set down for Wednesday, November 25, at Alloa Sheriff Court.
