A MAN who continually broke his bail conditions to see a woman has been banged up for 16 months.

On Thursday at Alloa Sheriff Court, William Wardrope admitted numerous charges.

Despite being granted bail on January 14, 2015, with the condition not to contact or communicate with Jean Burns directly or indirectly, Wardrope failed to comply to this without reasonable excuse on March 9 and April 27 last year.

The 47-year-old was granted bail again on September 30, 2015, with the same conditions, but broke them without reasonable excuse by entering a prohibited address in Alloa’s Tay Court to communicate with Ms Burns on November 10 and December 9 last year.

Fiscal depute Ann Orr told the court that he also broke his bail conditions on October 6, 2015, by entering the Tay Court address to drink alcohol with Ms Burns and others.

Ms Orr stated that the accused and Ms Burns had an argument, to which he was asked to leave.

Wardrope did so, but then contacted the police himself to admit the breach.

When the accused was traced and charged, he claimed he’d went down to the house initially because he had heard that Ms Burns had suffered two minor heart attacks and he was worried about her.

Wardrope also admitted behaving in a racially aggravated manner on January 13, 2015, at Falkirk Police Office.

As he was being processed by a female officer in respect to a disturbance at Riverside View earlier that day, he told her: “I’m Scottish, you f**king English w*ore.”

Wardrope also admitted behaving in an abusive manner on August 11, 2015, in Alloa’s Marshill and within a police vehicle travelling to Falkirk Police Office.

After he was traced by officers at 4am to be detained for an earlier incident, Wardrope stated: “You’re all getting sued.”

He then challenged a policeman, claiming: “You tried to f**king rape me, you f**king p**f.”

The accused continued his torrent of abuse at the station, calling the officer a “f*g”, “p**fy b**tard” and “specky b**stard”.

He also threatened: “When you are in your f**king civvies, I’m going to f**king get you.”

When interviewed afterwards, Wardrope claimed he was angry.

Wardrope, of Smithfield Loan in Alloa, also admitted failing to turn up to court on June 16, 2015, without a reasonable excuse.

Defence agent Jim Savage stated his client has significant mental health issues that have yet to be treated. He also battles with an alcohol problem, but is now sober.

Mr Savage said the relationship with Ms Burns was “complicated” and they have not been able to adhere to the terms of the bail conditions as they “seek each other out”.

Sheriff Christopher Shead stated that Wardrope had “offended in a variety of ways on a number of occasions” before jailing him for 16 months, backdated to December 10, 2015.
