A DRUNKEN reveller who exposed himself to a crowded Falkirk pub has been given a fine for public indecency.

Graham Shaw, 30, was drinking with pals in the Wellington Bar on August 1 last year when he "inexplicably" flashed his fellow patrons.

On Wednesday (January 13) he appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court for sentencing and was warned about his drinking.

Prosecutor Graham McLachlan told how the venue was busy, with about 60 punters in on a Saturday night, queuing two-deep at the bar.

At around 9.30pm, Shaw was sitting on a stool with his back to the bar in the company of a group of male friends, when he suddenly exposed himself.

Other drinkers shouted "put it away", which, after a few seconds, he did.

However, one shocked onlooker called police, while stewards ejected Shaw from the pub.

Officers arrived and studied CCTV footage of the incident, and Shaw was identified and traced some time later.

He said he could not remember what he had done.

Shaw, of Station Road, Slammannan, Stirlingshire, pleaded guilty to public indecency.

Stephen Biggam, defending, said the father-of-two -- who he said held down "a good job", and was in a stable relationship, with children aged three and eight -- had been out with friends, and had drunk too much.

The solicitor-advocate told Sheriff Linda Smith: "During the course of being in the bar he removes the item from his trousers for some bizarre reason and then puts it away again."

He added that Shaw had not believed what he had done until he was shown the CCTV evidence.

He said: "He has no recollection of what transpired. He didn't think it was something he'd do, because its something that nobody of a sensible mind would do, and he is normally sensible, but he now accepts it occurred after viewing the DVD.

"He would like to put it behind him as soon as possible."

Sheriff Smith fined Shaw £525 and told him: "Drinking to the point where you can't remember what you've done when you are drinking always leads to trouble."
