ALLOA Sheriff Court round-up, Thursday January 7:

AN ALLOA man has admitted acting in an abusive and threatening manner whilst out on bail.

John Baird pleaded guilty to assaulting a man by lunging and attempting to punch him at an address in the town’s Pine Grove on December 7 last year.

The 31-year-old, also of Pine Grove, further admitted to shouting and swearing in the common close area of the street, refusing to leave despite being requested to do so, striking windows and doors, uttering threats of violence and threats to cause damage on the same date.

Sheriff Christopher Shead ordered a criminal justice social work report, deferring sentence until January 28.

Baird, who appeared from custody, was remanded in the meantime.

A WOMAN who launched a cup at a policeman will have to wait until next month for her punishment.

Tracey Laird admitted assaulting the constable by throwing the cup of liquid, striking him on the head, on November 6 last year at Falkirk Police Office.

Sheriff Christopher Shead deferred sentence until February 4 to await the results of a background report on the 33-year-old from Sauchie’s Main Street.

A TILLY man was caught with cannabis plants worth a street value of £1500.

Graham Henderson admitted producing the Class B controlled drug at his home address in Ramsay Terrace between June 20, 2014 and August 10, 2014.

Fiscal depute Ann Orr explained that police officers had attended the house for another matter, but then detained the 27-year-old because of the smell of cannabis from inside the address.

Following a search, four cannabis plants worth a street value of £1500 and equipment were recovered.

Defence agent Kelly Howe argued that four plants was not a “sophisticated system”.

She said that her client had past drug and mental health problems.

Sheriff Christopher Shead sentenced Henderson to a Community Payback Order with 75 hours of unpaid work to be completed within six months.

AN ALLOA man who lost his temper was rewarded for keeping out of trouble.

Craig Fyfe admitted repeatedly shouting, swearing, using abusive language and acting in a threatening and aggressive manner towards his partner at his home address in Ashley Terrace on September 25 last year.

Fiscal depute Ann Orr confirmed that Fyfe had been of good behaviour since the incident.

Sheriff Christopher Shead thereafter admonished the 30-year-old.

A TILLY lad who kicked off in the back of a police vehicle will have to wait until next month for punishment.

On Thursday at Alloa Sheriff Court, Paul Domanski, 21, of Hareburn Road, admitted shouting, swearing and repeatedly uttering threats of violence at an address in Alloa’s Thorne Road and in the back of a vehicle on the way to Falkirk Police Station on January 23 last year.

Sheriff Christopher Shead deferred sentence until February 4 for the completion of a background report.

AN EDINBURGH man took a mobile phone, tablet device and accessories into Glenochil Prison without reasonable excuse.

Scott Peters, 35, of Hailesland Gardens, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court last Thursday to be sentenced after he was caught entering the prison grounds with the prohibited items on September 14 last year.

Sheriff Christopher Shead further deferred sentence until February 18 to await the outcome of a background report.
