AN ALLOA man is to stand trial this week accused of carrying out a series of violent sexual offences in Clackmannanshire over a twelve-year period.
Dean Allen is faced with a massive list of 32 charges, including numerous counts of rape, sexual assault, indecent assault, and assault to the danger of life.
The offences are alleged to have been committed against five different complainers, between April 2002 and April 2014.
Most are said to have taken place in Sauchie, though addresses in Alva, Fishcross, Alloa, Stirling, Falkirk and Tillicoultry are detailed in the indictment.
The 31-year-old is accused of additional public order offences and of being concerned in the supply of a variety of controlled drugs, namely heroin, cannabis, diazepam and amphetamine.
Mr Allen appeared at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday (Monday) and maintained his plea of not guilty to the charges against him.
His defence team submitted a special defence that any and all sexual activity between himself and the complainers had been consensual.
A further special defence of alibi was also tendered in respect of three of the offences before the court.
The trial, before Judge Norman Ritchie QC, is scheduled to last at least three weeks.
