A SAUCHIE man threatened to kill his ex-wife.
On Thursday at Alloa Sheriff Court, Colin Mitchell admitted acting in an aggressive manner and repeatedly uttering threats at an address in the town’s Broad Street on August 30, 2015.
Fiscal depute Ruairidh Ferguson told the court that Mitchell and the complainer had been in a relationship for over a decade.
The incident took place after the couple had been out for drinks.
The accused had spilled a drink over the complainer, which resulted in tension between the two.
When they returned home an argument ensued.
Mitchell, 47, threatened: “I’m going to kill you.”
The complainer started to cry, to which the accused stated again: “Oh yes, I’m going to kill you.”
In defence it was stated that Mitchell, of Tenacres, had limited memory of the incident, but took full responsibility.
The relationship was now said to be over.
Sheriff Gillian Wade sentenced Mitchell to a Community Payback Order with two years’ supervision and a requirement to attend the Caledonian Men’s Programme for domestic abuse.
