A THIEF, who stole £500, claimed the victim of her sticky fingers tried to get her into bed along with another woman.

On Thursday at Alloa Sheriff Court, Catherine Christie admitted stealing the money from the Devon River Riding Centre in Fishcross on January 24 this year.

Fiscal depute Ann Orr told the court that the complainer was out with friends and during the course of the evening he met 53-year-old Christie and another woman.

The group spent time drinking together, all returning to his home for more alcohol.

Ms Orr claimed that the complainer went to bed, waking up with little recollection of the night before. Finding the money to be missing, he called the police and the accused was traced from her fingerprints left behind.

When detained, Christie admitted that she’d been out drinking with pals. She claimed that the man tried to get the women into bed and when they refused he went into the bedroom and passed out.

The accused confessed that she found the money when looking for more wine and it had since been “well spent”.

Defending, Claire McCarron stated that her client, of Engelen Drive in Alloa, was highly intoxicated and very remorseful for what happened.

Sheriff David Mackie sentenced Christie to a CPO with supervision for nine months and a conduct requirement to save £10 per fortnight with a view to repaying the money stolen.
