A YOUNG woman "lost her job as she lost her marriage".

On Thursday at Alloa Sheriff Court, Leanne Chidwick admitted acting in a threatening manner in Sauchie's Craigview and elsewhere on April 29 last year.

Fiscal depute Laura Knox told the court that the accused's husband at the time was preparing their kids for school when Chidwick got out of her bed in a "bad mood".

After a friend collected the children, the accused's mood deteriorated further.

She told her husband: "You're not f**king leaving here".

The husband did leave and phoned a pal to pick him up. The accused followed him down the street, so he tried to keep his distance until his friend arrived.

Chidwick was said to have got more agitated.

The husband and his mate returned to the house, but then decided to leave. The accused went into the kitchen, while the husband and friend got into a car. They then heard a tap on the window.

Chidwick, of Alloa's Eden Road, was seen to have a kitchen knife in her hand. They drove off, but the accused got into her own vehicle and followed.

At this point, the husband phoned the police. When they arrived, the accused was still shouting.

The 26-year-old was heard to say: "Don't do this to me."

When she was arrested, Chidwick admitted: "I wasn't going to harm anyone. I just didn't feel good."

Defending, Krista Johnston claimed that her client had "an unfortunate personal history".

Chidwick and her husband had been together five years, but were only married for seven weeks before the relationship broke down. The accused's reaction was brought on by this.

Chidwick was said to suffer poor mental health, but has since been attending with a clinical hypnotherapist for help.

Ms Johnston added: "She lost her job as she lost her marriage."

Sheriff J.K. Tierney accepted that the outburst seemed like a "one-off".

He deferred sentence until July 20 for Chidwick's good behaviour.
