A MAN who rammed a car into the back of a stationary motor now has his eye on buying a mobility scooter.

Last Wednesday at Alloa's Justice of the Peace Court, Richard Milne admitted driving without due care or attention along Sauchie's Main Street on May 28 last year.

The 53-year-old pleaded guilty to failing to keep a proper lookout, whereby he collided with a stationary car in front of him which in turn hit the motor in front of that, causing damage to all three vehicles.

Milne, of Bruce Street in Clackmannan, also admitted driving without insurance.

Fiscal depute Ruaraidh Ferguson told the court that the road traffic accident happened at around 3pm at a pedestrian crossing. Fortunately no one was injured.

When police attended, Milne told the officers that the car in front didn't have its break lights on and was moving, albeit slowly.

The accused stated that his passenger shouted "wow, wow" before "it went bang".

Defending, Ms Robertson explained that her client was taking the car out for a test spin with the owner as he intended to purchase it.

In the dock, Milne admitted: "I shouldn't have been driving it."

Ms Robertson added that Milne now hopes to buy a mobility scooter instead.

Justice Stuart Fair fined Milne £450 and endorsed his licence with six penalty points.
