A MAN is to face trial charged with chasing kids with a snake.
Paul Mason is accused of repeatedly pursuing children while in possession of the reptile, inviting them to touch it.
Mason, 46, is also said to have conducted himself in a disorderly manner by setting off fireworks in the children's vicinity during the incident in Greenfield Park, Alloa, Clackmannanshire, on October 22.
At the town's sheriff court on Monday, Mason, of Nevis Crescent, Alloa, maintained a plea of not guilty to breach of the peace.
Defence agent Claire McCarron said Mason had been examined by a psychologist and a psychiatrist, who said he might have difficulty following proceedings during any court case, and might need special measures to help him do so.
Sheriff Christopher Shead set trial for April 4, after a further preliminary hearing on March 27.
