A LEARNER driver has had six points slapped on his licence for getting behind the wheel without supervision or insurance.
Last Wednesday at Alloa's Justice of the Peace Court, Ewan Anderson admitted driving in his home street on December 18 last year without being accompanied by a qualified driver.
The 35-year-old, of Main Street in Coalsnaughton, also pleaded guilty to failing to display 'L' plates and not having insurance as required.
Fiscal depute Laura Knox told the court that the accused was caught by police after they received intelligence that he was driving without a full licence.
Defending, it was claimed that Anderson purchased the car with the intention of sitting his test, but had "perhaps jumped the gun" by getting in the driver's seat before doing so.
Justice Michael Bromby fined the accused £500 and endorsed his licence with six penalty points.
