A WEE COUNTY bus driver abandoned his vehicle before attempting to snatch his child from the back of a car.

However, in what was described as a "bizarre case", Chris Blythe was not the one facing punishment at Alloa's Justice of the Peace Court last week.

Instead, accused Ryan Wilson admitted causing a breach of the peace by losing his cool with Mr Blythe's actions.

Last Wednesday, fiscal depute Laura Knox stated that the argument between the two men in Tilly's Murray Square on September 17, 2016 was captured on CCTV.

Although Wilson pleaded guilty to shouting, swearing and acting in an aggressive manner, defence lawyer Mr Morrow stated: "It's an absolutely bizarre case."

Mr Morrow explained that Wilson's partner, who was five months pregnant to the accused, already had a four-year-old child to Mr Blythe.

On the day of the incident Wilson and his girlfriend were loading shopping into their motor when Mr Blythe, who was driving a public service bus, spotted the couple on his run.

Mr Blythe pulled into the bus stop and then abandoned the vehicle to cross the road to confront them. He then attempted to remove his toddler from the back of the car.

Wilson, who was watching in "disbelief", stepped in when his partner got upset.

The 25-year-old accused accepted that "two wrongs don't make a right", however Mr Morrow questioned as to why Mr Blythe was not in court for his own actions.

Wilson, of Randolph Crescent in Brightons, Falkirk, was said to have the full backing of his employer in respect to the altercation, while he and his partner were trying to get on with their lives in the hope that Mr Blythe "doesn't materialise from any buses any time soon".

Justice Michael Bromby fully accepted the defence's facts of the case and granted an absolute discharge whereby the finding of guilt is made, but no conviction is registered.
