A THIEF who failed to show up to court has been given six months to be of good behaviour.
On Thursday, Barry McGowan was due to be sentenced for stealing a backpack, cash dispenser and quantity of money from an insecure vehicle at Clackmannanshire Health Care Centre on November 17 last year.
However, the 30-year-old, of Upper Mill Street in Tillicoultry, was not in attendance at Alloa Sheriff Court when his case called.
Defending, Claire McCarron explained that it was the funeral of a family member that day and the accused was most likely attending that.
Sheriff David Mackie deferred sentence until October 5 to monitor McGowan's progress on another Community Payback Order.
Sheriff Mackie stated that the accused will be admonished if he stays out of trouble during that time.
