A TULLIBODY man turned to drugs after a road traffic accident.
On Thursday, David Paterson admitted producing and being in possession of cannabis at his home address on December 9, 2016.
Defending, Kelly Howe claimed that her 32-year-old client had been in a road collision and later started using the Class B controlled drug when his pain medication was stopped.
Paterson, of Newmills, has abstained from using cannabis since his arrest and was said to recognise the severity of the offence.
Sheriff David Mackie sentenced Paterson to a Community Payback Order with 120 hours of unpaid work to be completed within 12 months.
