AN ALLOA woman has been fined for getting behind the wheel without insurance.

Last Wednesday at the county's Justice of the Peace Court, Carolanne Hall pleaded guilty to driving a car along Sauchie's Main Street on December 20 last year without the proper paperwork in place.

Defending, Ms Maitland claimed that her client had been depressed and was struggling with financial difficulties.

Ms Maitland explained that the accused's motor had been off the road for two months, but on the day in question she was running late and foolishly took the car to drop her daughter off at school and then on to a work meeting.

Justice Mandy Shand aired her unhappiness that 42-year-old Hall drove uninsured to a school and past Sauchie Nursery.

She told the accused: "The law is there for a reason."

Justice Shand fined Hall, of Mill Road, £400 and added six penalty points onto her licence.
