A YOUNG man was hit with a hefty fine for driving his pal's car.
On Wednesday at Alloa's Justice of the Peace Court, Liam McClelland admitted getting behind the wheel without insurance on the A91 Stirling to Cupar Road in Alva on March 6 this year.
Defending, Ms Maitland explained that her client had taken his friend shopping and the 26-year-old accused was left to park his mate's motor. It was at that time he was caught by the police.
Although the owner of the vehicle had insurance, McClelland wrongly thought he was covered.
Justice William Whyte fined the accused, of Greenhead in Alva, £400.
McClelland's licence was also endorsed with six penalty points. With six points already accumulated, the accused has automatically lost his licence for six months.
